Snowmass Opening Weekend

Yet again, Ullr delivers on Aspen and Snowmass. Opening day was a fun day with not too many people, then the skies opened up and delivered that wonderful white fluffy stuff. Friday was good and Saturday turned out to be even better. Ropes are dropping at both Aspen and Snowmass and I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.. The anxiety is killing me. Well, hope to see you out here soon and hope everyone is enjoying the pow.

A few days of warm sun and guess what

It's snowing again!  6" reported and it is still dumping.  Hope to see you all out there.

Nitros Report 1/8/08

Sunday could have been the best day of skiing in my life. 11 years in Colorado and I have never seen anything like this. More is on the way with about a foot predicting by Thursday. I have found a new line in Rock Island thanks to some High Society guys. I hope you get out and enjoy Snowmass....79" base and counting!

What a Weekend!

This past weekend had to have been one of the best weekends Snowmass has ever seen. The snow conditions are super and the powder is deep. Snow on Thursday night and Friday postponed the Women's World Cup Downhill on Friday and cancelled school for the valley kids. They were able to run the downhill on Saturday just before it started snowing again. Saturday night we kicked off the season with the first Bud Hi FI concert featuring Blues Traveler. And wow what a party and show it was!

It's snowing & the forecast is looking good!

A winter storm rolled through Snowmass dumping up to eight inches of snow on the slopes. Hunters in the area reported more than a foot of snow in some backcountry locations. Snowmass reported eight inches of snow while Aspen Mountain received six inches at the 11,212 foot summit. The forecast is calling for another storm to roll through next week.
Mark your calendars as Snowmass and Aspen Mountain are scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22.
