Snowmass Opens on Thursday!
Submitted by wendy on November 24, 2008 - 10:32am. snow conditionsSnowmass is looking good for a great opening day on Thursday. The snow that has fallen this month along with cold temperatures for snowmaking should prove to be a great start to the 08/09 season in Snowmass. We were lucky enough to get an early start on the season by hiking up to the top of the Village Express Lift and had some really great turns all the way down Banzai and Hal's Hallow. Aspen Mountain is all set to host the Women's World Cup on Saturday & Sunday this week!

New Snow!
Submitted by wendy on December 2, 2007 - 4:26pm. snow conditionsSummit For Life 07Santa came a little early to the Elk Mountains. His gift, 35" of new snow in the past 48 hours. Both Aspen Mountain and Snowmass are skiing to perfection. And for sure there was thigh deep snow in places on both mountains this weekend. Skied Snowmass yesterday with the family then hiked Aspen Mountain last night for Chris Klug's annual Summit for Life event. It was amazing and there were some strong and fast people hiking last night. Chris is the first athlete ever to win an Olympic medal after successful organ transplant surgery.
Happy Thanksgiving
Submitted by wendy on November 23, 2007 - 9:45am. snow conditionsWhat a great Thanksgiving Weekend it has started out to be. Even though our snow pack has been limited our snowmakers have been diligent in their efforts to make snow. With the cold temperatures and some help from Mother Nature Snowmass and Aspen Mountain were able to open for the season on Thanksgiving Day.
